From grade school to high school and 3 years of college football was my life I loved the game I was very competitive good at the game and wanted to be the best
I would leave college at the end of my junior year get married and start a family. But that would not stop my ambition to achieve. The desire behind my drive was to please my father to win him over. That would never happen. I would spend the next twenty plus years climbing the corporate ladder I was the first regional manager for the Shoney's restaurant chain. To my dismay they were sold and they brought in the own management team. I move to retail management and within a year I was running my own store and would eventually run one on the top 3 stores in profit and volume out of 25 stores. I took a salesman they were ready to fire and turned him into the second best salesman in the company. My frustrations continued the more I did the higher my dad raised the bar.
He would pass away without us ever bonding. This led me to write my book A Biblical View of Prosperity from a Coal Miner's Son. This would be the way I would discover who my dad was the man who only had a fifth grade education but would have some pretty phenomenal accomplishments.
By writing the book and building the web-site I discovered the dad I never knew. My discovery would not only lead me to a relationship with my dad but would also lead me to a relationship with Jesus. I would develop an understanding that the bible is real and it's words are true. I hope and Pray you take the time to read my book. It tells the story of a simple man and a son who lives were parallel but ran very different courses. All the trials along the way would only make them stronger and more determined to succeed.
I grew up pretty quick had a good home life mom and dad always there or at least figuratively speaking. Mom was a clean freak always cleaning the house, dad when not working liked to hunt, fish, work the garden when in season. Because of an early childhood illness my mom became overly protective and eventually would drive a wedge between me and my dad.
I Believe
I wrote a book about my dad the man I never really knew. I wanted desperately to know this man what made him tick, why he did what he did and how he succeeded. He only had a fifth grade education taught himself to read, pass state mine exams sell tailor made suits as a part time income and become the Sunday school Superintendent at the church we attended. The Bible was a big part of my dads life. It was his guide for his life and what he lived by. I resented my dad for many years I felt I could never measure up to his standard. It was not until his death did I get to know him.
My Community what I want you to know
I wrote my book Truth or lie after much thought, study, and research. Much of my information came from my sisters, relatives, people who knew my dad and my memories growing up. Our paths ran parallel
but in total different directions me trying to win his approval and him constantly raising the bar not allowing me to reach it .
I have learned that you can rekindle a broken relationship be it a parent, sibling, close friend, or a spouse even if deceased.
The book I wrote gives insight into this making it more relatable. The underlying principal in the book is, does the Bible teach prosperity. This is the journey I took for close to two years to discover the man I never knew.
